That's pretty normal in the beginning, in fact that's why people often refer to the time period you're in as "banster hell". Until you get some restriction, which normally takes a couple fills, you can likely eat just like you did before you were banded.

It's not easy, but during this time it's left to willpower. Hang in there, it gets easier once you have some restriction.

Why would you want to do this journey without a fill?? If you are worried about it hurting, don't be. Not painful at all...You will eventually need fills and it sounds to me, You need one now!! You should not be able to eat that much food at one time. Go get yourself a fill... ;)

That's totally normal! I was eating normal after my op, i tried to be healthy and lost some weight but i put that down to the liquid diet after the band. The whole point of the band is fills i would have thought, i just had my second fill yesterday taking me to 5cc and Im hoping that gives a helping hand along with my meeting with the dietition last week which really helped too. Get your fills as you need them.x

I guess that I am abnormal as I did have restriction before my 1st fill. I was on the 6 month monitored diet,it helped. I only ate from a salad plate and restricted myself. But, I tried to eat a 2nd peace of pizza(this was before my 1st fill), I got my 1st pb that day. Go carefully on your band! Good luck, Karen

PB=productive burping! Simular to vomiting but not from the stomach and no nasty stomach juices after taste. Karen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
