Too Tight Maybe??

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill last week. I have a total of 4cc in my band. In the morning, i seem to get my Breakfast down ok with no problems. For the past several nights, I have been unable to eat dinner. It just comes right back up and the same thing with lunch the last 2 days. I have no other symptoms, so not real sure what is going on. When I do successfully eat a meal, Im hungry a couple hours later. I am chewing my food to complete mush (at LEAST 30 seconds) and waiting between each bite.

Any suggestions?

Thx,

Maria

What are you eating? Its usually breakfast that will give you problems if you're gonna have any problems.

Sounds like you may be too tight, or your having a bad case of acid reflux. If its your first fill, your stomach may just need time to adjust, and maybe you should do just liquids for a day or two until it calms down, good luck!

My dr has me drink liquids for 2 days then my mushies until I can keep everything down. In other words I had to eat mushies two days then try some reg easy to chew foods if I purged then I went back to mushies one day and so on 4 cc is a big first fill. I got 2 cc my first fill and now only have 3.5 cc total and I was banded in dec. 22.but everyone is different. I have been having reflux at night but it's getting better now so I'm not going to infill. You may consider unfill. I can only drink in mornings and eat between 11-7 then I tighten up in eve and cannt eat also this helps to reduce risk of night time acid reflux. I just have Premier Protein drink in am and one in eve if I get hungery. You have to watch cals though if you do this each premier Protein is 160 cal 30 gms protein

i was banded 3-13 and got my first fill this past tuesday. i found out that i was given 4cc's at surgery and they topped it off with 1cc at my first fill. it is sunday night and i am still having a hard time keeping anything solid down. I even have trouble with blended Protein and banana shakes. before i got the fill i felt great and could eat almost anything....chicken, steak, nuts, etc. but now i feel pretty bad just because i'm hungry and can't keep anything down. Is this normal for a first fill? I didn't go back on Friday to get some taken out because I thought I just needed to adjust but I thought I would feel better by now. HELP!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
