I'm 3 weeks post op and already had my first fill - question I want to go to sushi train and i need to know is sushi hard for some of you to swallow? Does it go down or is it just a non friendly band food? ? Because I LOVE sushi!

I have never had any issues with sushi! I'm going tonight actually! I usually start with a miso Soup because it goes down quickly and through the band....I have some edamame- no issues there...salmon sashimi chews well...as do some of the rolls although I try to stick to the ones with more veg and nothing with tempura...I can't eat as much as I used to but I have never had a problem!

Thanks for your reply, that sheds some light but I wont know until I try. I don't eat the sushi rolls - more the raw fish on top of sushi and things like that. I'll just eat slow and chew!! Thanks again for your reply!! X

I have Suchi atleast once a week. So far I have had no problems, but some in my Lap Band group say Rice and Pasta doesn't go down well at all for them. But then again everyone is different. Just glad I can still enjoy my weekly girls night out still :P You never know till you try.

Love my sushi! Sometimes the seaweed wrap gives me trouble, but i chew it well. I cant eat a whole roll at once, so i cut it up. And i get full on 3 pieces, where before i could eat 8-10 pieces! But it tastes just as good!

I love sushi!! I still have it. Lots. lol. I usually order sushi that is light on rice and heavy on the raw fish. My favorite sushi is all raw fish wrapped in cucumber instead of seaweed. Goes down like a dream and is packed with Protein. I can eat between 2-4 pieces depending on my fill level.

I always drink my hot miso before hand as well as some hot green tea. Really relaxes things.

I went for sushi last night- didn't have any rolls but again started with Soup and then had sweet shrimp nigiri- so no seaweed / salmon sashimi was also done paper thin so it was very nice and easy to chew!! You must, must , must chew it well and eat slowly!! Easier said then done when you are out and gabbing with other people!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
