What Can You Expect To Experience The First 3 Days After Surgery ?

Recommended Posts

I am having a hard time emotionally with the change. I wish SOMEONE had said you will be feeling sad or depressed for a few days. But it is because.........

Other posts have described these feelings also.

Are you still in Arizona? Im in Az.

No....although my wife and I want to move back to Arizona we are here in the midwest. I LOVE ARIZONA ....BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO LIVE. I lived in Tempe [Chandler, Old Town Scottsdale (Indian School/Millber) and Phoenix (by Union Hills and 51].

Your going to laugh but we were at major Fish/Dolphin/Whale Show here in the Midwest and they had a huge Penguin exhibit...... Specifically, there was a mural (from left to right) showing pictures of coldest penguins in the world looked like down to the warmest weather climate penguins and what they looked like.

Well...the funny thing was.....you can see an obvious correlation....THE COLDER THE CLIMATE....THE BIGGER THE PENGUIN WAS.......THE WARMER THE CLIMATE......THE SMALLER THE PENGUIN WAS. ....

LESSON LEARNED? Move to a warmer state and you will have a better chance of losing weight. Not that you will....but just a better chance :). All that I know is....I've gained 85lbs by moving back to the Midwest here.....could my theory be true regarding climate and its effect of weight? HMMM ? haha...

Blessings

I was banded today, outpatient. They kept me all day in recovery, told me to stay as long as I needed to because of pain. I was surprised. It wasnt horribly intense or unbearable but i was thinking, im super patient! I can deal. Apparently I can't. I'm a nurse so pain control and tolerance is a huge focus in my world.

I'm almost 6 foot tall, so the surgeon told my hubby that my liver was larger than he anticipated, not enlarged tho, and he had to make a 4th lap site and enlarge my umbilical site. So it took him a bit longer and he hated my big old liver it seems. Anyway, my pain is worsened when I need to burp I'm finding. And moving around really does help. I read it over and over on here but it's true!

Good luck marketing dude.

BTW- my Protein Shakes have 160 cals. In hindsight I would've found some that were Meal Replacement for my 1 week pre op. Not meer Snacks.< /p>

No, I used True Results in Scottsdale...the doctor's name is Dr. Nirmul. A few years ago I went to Terry Simpson but they were more expensive...I went the self-pay route (& 2 people I know had it done with him). With True Results all of your fills for the 1st year are included in the price....that to me was huge.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
