I did it!!

:faint: Okay...so just a little pat on the back for myself...I did it. I was banded 2/24/06 in Tijuana. We came home (North Carolina) yesterday...ON THE LONGEST FLIGHT EVER. Of course I had Drunky McGee next to me so I couldn't walk the aisles - so my peice of advice if you're flying get an aisle seat. The gas is painful and I feel like I'm carrying the band on my side (does anyone else feel like that? does it go away?)...it's not an "awareness that it's there"...it feels like a baby on my hip. BUT...I am happy...not to be eating broth and Jello...but to be confident that by my wedding I will have lost some, if not all, of my weight. I'm a low BMI'er and I've heard it's harder for me, but I'm pretty excited...just wish I felt as good physically as I do mentally. (Yeah...I know that will have it's up's & down's too).

Thanks for listening to my little party for myself!

:clap2:

YEA!!! I'm glad you made it through!! The pain will subside. It took about 3 days for me before I felt human again. Keep to the bandster rules and you will do great!!!

I'm going to Tennessee for my surgery and have made sure to request an aisle seat. I had thoughts even before booking about being stuck on the inside and not being able to get out and move around. Good Luck to you on your upcoming wedding.

The aisle seat isn't as important on the trip down, but will be on the trip back, even though I plan on staying a few mo.

Congratulations! You may have just done the one thing for yourself that you'll never regret! Words can't express the feelings you'll have watching those dreaded numbers falling off the scale. Wait until you pull on a pair of pants that you haven't worn in a long time and they don't fit... because they're too big! You'll feel great soon, it took me a total of about 3 weeks to feel totally back to normal, no pain or discomfort, could eat again, etc.

Welcome to bandland!

Welcome to bandland!! Be nice to yourself if you don't bounce back right away. Two weeks out I'm finally feeling human again -- I didn't think it would EVER happen!

I felt the baby-on-the-hip thing... my surgeon said that the cut & stitches for the port are pretty major & to give it time to heal before freaking out. Hehe, he knows me too well! I did just notice this morning that I'm getting out of bed normally instead of doing a huge circle to get up. Time is an awesome thing!

Anyway, all that to say to hang in there with the pain & congrats!!!
