Barometric Pressure And Gas Pain

I had no gas pain at all from my appendectomy and asked my surgeon how barometric pressure affects the amount of pain that one experiences from the gas. He explained that

the inside of our body is one atmosphere of barometric pressure while the geographical area where we physically live is another atmosphere. If the barometric pressure where we live is stable after our surgery, we may not experience any gas pain, but if there is decrease in the pressure, we likely will experience discomfort from the gas.

I got lucky on the appendectomy and am hoping for the same with the band.

this is very interesting. i live furthest south in Australia and we are subject to huge highs and lows with the barometric pressures. there is a high incidence of arthritis here in our st ate as well. So, having experienced body aches and pains from it i know how it can affect the body. its been a while for me .. just over three weeks and im still getting some gas pain... and our pressure is up and down every day. Thanks for sharing this one.

You're welcome. I appreciate learning about your experiences. The surgeon first told my husband this after completing the procedure, so I asked him to explain it during my follow-up visit a week later. It made sense to me as we had nearly perfectly weather for several consecutive days where I live.

ihad my first visit with the nutritionalist the other day and mentioned it and she had never heard of it. i believe it though. i come from a fishing family that goes right back. we know more about the weather and its vagarities than most people do.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
