christine0x0x 0 Posted April 16, 2012 I just got my insurance approval today and I am scheduled for surgery next monday, April 23rd! I am excited but so nervous about how I will handle the day of surgery. I tend to be a pretty anxious person, especially with anything medical so I know I will be pretty nervous. How did you handle surgery day? Were you given anything to calm your nerves? Anyone have any tips for me?
kbliss78 123 Posted April 16, 2012 There is a great thread on this site where people discuss all details of their entire surgery date. Just search for the thread. It is great. Mine is set for 3 weeks away and I beleive i will be a ball of nerves no matter what! (which is usually not like me). Best wishes.
Short and Chunky 230 Posted April 16, 2012 Christine - I was just so excited to get this thing started I was good (I am a nervous Nelly too). After you complete the pre-op diet (your stomach will think your throat has been cut) you will be glad to get the surgery behind you. It was very easy on me and I am old (60)...I went home 4 hours after the surgery and felt great. Hang in there and don't worry too much. Come to the site often - it is such a help. I am 9 months post op and down 92 pounds..you can do this..... Melinda in Florida
new beginnings03 9 Posted April 16, 2012 Good Luck to you I had my surgery on 4/12 and I am doing just great! I was so nervous and scared the day of my surgery it wasn't even funny lol I was crying in the pre ope area and couldn't stop but than I remembered why I was having this surgery and plus my mother n law and my husband were in the area with me and making me laugh so much that i forgot why I was crying in the first place. Just relax and you will do fine it helps when u have a loved one near to help makes things easier on you. it also helps that the anesthesiologist gives you something in your Ivy to help you relax than before you know it you wake up in recovery Just also remember take deep breaths after surgery this will help with the gas pain.
