luann71 1 Posted April 15, 2012 Tomorrow I start my pre-surgery diet, Protein Shakes, Multivitamins, and a small dinner every day. I am nervous about this as there are so many food triggers that it is going to be hard to walk away from them, but I have to in order for me to be successful on this life change I am about to make. Was anyone else worried about their pre-surgery diet and also nervous for the the surgery itself??? I am very nervous about it, is there anything I can do to calm myself????? 2012Enoughisenough 5 Posted April 15, 2012 Just breathe. I am having my surgery on April 25 and have been on the pre op diet for 5 days and it was torture at first but it is what it is. I spread out my Protein drinks and am eating sugar free Jello in between. I get a few hunger pains but they pass in a few minutes. What get me through is remembering why I am doing this in the first place. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
new beginnings03 9 Posted April 16, 2012 Good Luck to all of you I had my surgery on 4/12 and I am doing just great! I was so nervous and scared the day of my surgery it wasn't even funny lol I was crying in the pre ope area and couldn't stop but than I remembered why I was having this surgery and plus my mother n law and my husband were in the area with me and making me laugh so much that i forgot why I was crying in the first place. Just relax and you will do fine it helps when u have a loved one near to help makes things easier on you. it also helps that the anesthesiologist gives you something in your Ivy to help you relax than before you know it you wake up in recovery Just also remember take deep breaths after surgery this will help with the gas pain. c945105 16 Posted April 16, 2012 I think normal to be nervous and dread this liquid diet . Mine is April 20th and ready as the diet feels like I've been on forever (and know it will for quite a while after)! It does make me feel better to see almost everyone is feeling the same way. I love reading the posts from those of you also that just had surgery. The tips and help are so reassuring and know will use to make for a easier recovery Cyndi
