Cereal For Breakfast??

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone.. I am 2 Weeks postop. I still have pain and soreness, but it is getting better. I'm still technically on mushy foods, but I have tried a couple of solids without any problems. Will be permanently moving on to solids within the next few days. My problem.. I'm SOOOOOO tired of mushy foods especially scrambled eggs for Breakfast. I really want a little bit of special k Cereal with fat free lactose free milk. Has anyone had cereal or anything similar so soon after being banned? Did you have any problems?

I am not saying this to be mean. Please follow your doctors orders. Whether you think solids are fine or not your doctor knows best. I know some people do eat cereal for breaksfast but for me it is counter-intuitive. Unless you are going to drink the milk before you eat the cereal you will be drinking while you are eating. For this reason I rarely eat Soup now that I am healed. I drink the liquid and then eat the solids out. Also remember a serving of cereal is usually a cup or less, most cereal bowls hold at least twice that much.

After you are cleared for solids this is what I recommend for breakfast. I have a Chobani Greek yoghurt with fruit, 1/2 scoop vanilla whey isolate powder, walnuts, 1/3 cup Kashi Go Lean high Protein ceral, unflavored benefiber, Splendra.

I know its not what you want to hear, but Im a firm believer in sticking to the rules...if you think you are ready to move to the next stage then I would wait until tomorrow and call the doctor office. They may let you move on. But don't just decide to break the rules....if you eat solid food and feel any twinges of pain or discomfort, you will worry yourself sick wondering if you have messed something up.

Thanks guys.. I did not give in to my cereal "wants". I will hold off until I can eat solids.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
