It took me at least 30 per meal. lunch took almost an hour. If I ate everything I think it would take an hour to eat, but I'm still getting full off of about 1/2 a cup. Which is good, except my scale is boycotting weight loss this past week. Grr. How many calories a day are you eating? I wanted to get to 800 today but only managed 630. I just wasn't hungry or got full. I wonder if I could possibly still be swollen. It's hard to think so little food fills me up.

its taking me at least that long as well... especially with meat as i chew a lot longer and wait longer in between mouthfuls. Aat lunchtime it took me 3/4 of an hour. Im having a half cup. trying to keep it at that. Im hungry enough to eat the lot at the moment. its just im so slow. You could be a bit swollen still.... its not that long since you were banded. it takes at least six weeks - two months for initial swelling to subside. i dont think i have much swelling now . im a month on the 22.. two days away. i do feel some restriction though so there must be some there but not much i dont think.

im having fish tonight. just trying to work out on myfitnesspal the weight of my fish so i can add it to my chart. it looks as if , when i work it all out, im still down on calories. im only supposed to have 1000 a day at the moment.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
