I'm Beginning To Get Worried!

Recommended Posts

Went to my post op doctors appointment today and everything is fine. The nurse said my surgeon does not place any primer Fluid in the band during surgery so that is why I am able to eat the larger portions and why I've been so hungry. Which is all normal. Thank you for all of your responses!

I'm 3 days post-op and I'm on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks and full liquids for 2 weeks after that. I couldn't eat anything right now. Your first fill won't be for about 4-5 weeks, right? I would double check with our surgeon on what you can have. That seems like a lot.

I'm sorry to say but a lawyer in the US has no jurisdiction for doctors in Mexico. Same goes for law enforcement.

You will find that there are many many different post op food protocols. For instance, I was not allowed to leave hospital day after surgery until I consumed a little tuna salad & cranberry sauce. I was on soft/mushy food immediately & 4 weeks post op. On my list of mushy was ground beef in either beef broth or red sauce, even baked potato was OK as long as I mashed it with my fork. So as long as your doc is OK with the types of food you consumed I would concentrate more on keeping the quantity under control.

As for the random post about the Mexican Surgeon it was posted as an original topic a day or so ago & got numerous posts on it, including one from myself. I have no idea why it was posted here other then to get further attention. I am sorry if that sounds harsh but something just seems funky about it now that I see it tacked randomly on someone else's question/post.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
