I Feel Horrible

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I had a fill on Monday and I haven't been able to keep much down, but I figured I was doing too much and decide to wait a while in case ther were some swelling, but for the past two days I can't keep anything down not even Water I would throw up froth, spit and whatever else I try to get down along with serious discomfort.i called my doc and he told me to take small sips of water and call him in the am if I still feel the same way, because the Band might be too tight. I did some research and found out it could be Band Slippage. But my doc say that's not the problem. Should I call my doc back now?.....I'm scared.....HELP!!!!

Docs are there for a reason, and so are ER's.....I would rather go to the ER and have the exray done to make sure it's in place and ease my mind than to worry and make it worse...

No, it is probably too tight. i would get some Fluid taken out asap, otherwise you may become dehydrated.

You are definitely too tight. You should never not be able to pass water!! I spent one night spitting my saliva into a cup and it was one of the most miserable nights of my life.

Your Dr should get you in right away for an unfill. This is an emergency situation.

Yes too tight - not a slip. But if you haven't been able to keep any Water down for a couple of days then you can become dehydrated which is an amergency. You should go to the ER, hopefully someone there will be able to do an unfill. At the very least they can get you onto an IV and get some Fluid into you.

Thank you guys for your input. I went to the Er the next am and they give me fluids and my dr took 2cc out and I immediately felt much better I guzzled so much Water after that it tasted like steak. Again thank you for all your advice.

You need to go have fill removed from your band. These are symptoms of being too tight. It's extremely important that you not get dehydrated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
