DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted April 15, 2012 When I had my surgery, the woman sharing the room with me was in there to have her band replaced. She was drinking soda regularly since being banded and it prolapsed her band, which means her band not only slipped but her stomach actually came up through the band. All due to drinking carbonation. I was told not to ever drink carbonation again after being banded, and after seeing what my hospital roommate went through because of drinking it, you better believe I will NEVER touch it again. It's not worth the risk.
3nuthut 32 Posted April 16, 2012 On St. Patty's day I had the band for two and half months, completely forgot, and ordered a beer... big mistake! Too many bubbles trying to go through the band and too much trying to come back out of the band... Very painful. Try taking a sip and keeping it in your mouth. Notice how much of that sit foams up in your mouth. That's why everyone recommends letting it sit out for a while. But bloody mary's don't get me any problems.. :0)!
