Anything even close to carbonation causes great discomfort for me. It feels like a trapped burp.

I stayed away from all alcohol for the first 6-7 months. Now I drink a glass of wine or margarita now and then.

First talk to your Dr. Second I drink beer all the time, have never had a problem with carbonation and my Dr never told me I could not do carbonation. He did however recommend that I pour it out into a glass and let it sit for 15 minutes. But your Dr may say something else. Also remember most beers are a minimum of 200 calories and lots of carbs. You should search alcohol in the forum to hear more about it

I was told no fizzy and when I tried some it's so gassy, it does feel like trapped burps. However if you get something stuck its great, few sips, couple huge burps and your unstuck! I'm a wine convert now and can't tolerate fizzy.

The reasoning behind it, or at least this is what I've been told by my doctor, is that the gas build up of the carbonation in the stomach can cause the band to slip. They say it's not something that happens on a regular basis but is something that happens. I am a soda addict and gave them up. I just don't want to be that "one" person it happens to.

Every doctor is going to be different because every Dr has a different procedure in how they place the band. This is why everyone should to talk to their own surgeon about it. I did wait to try soda for about 2 months and never had any issues but everyone is different.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
