By myself (9 month old is sleeping, husband took our 6 yr old to teeball) on day 3467964227 of this preop diet (actually 2 weeks and 1 day)... and the mental battle begins. There is so much Easter candy in this house....it is driving me crazy. I am an addict going through withdraws. Lost 15 lbs so Im doing good and I want to keep it up but those dang Reeses Peanut Butter eggs are calling my name. I friggin hate this. Not going to do it...going to busy myself with my budget and bills. Nichole

you can do it!!! I ended up throwing most of my kids candy out!! I am two weeks post banded and had the pleasure of doing my liquid diet while on vacation with my kids, very very difficult, but we keep our mind on the finish line and power through....staying busy helps! good luck!

Just throw it out!! i have older children 17, 15, 13...i have always done something for the holiday...but this year i declared the easter bunny dead!! I gave each kid a movie ticket and a coupe bucks....I warned my in-laws that if they loaded the kids up with candy...it would be in trash before the end of the day. (BTW--2 of my children are struggling with weight issues....so no one really should be eating that crap anyways.

I know it sounds mean spirited but I don't think the kids need any last bites of candy. Easter is now officially a week ago. As WW would say it's a holiday not a holiweek.

Yes bring the rest to work. Yes, this is easy for me to say because I don't have any kids, but they did have Easter and then another 6 days of candy.

Well, but he hasnt had it every day though. Im going to bring the stuff that I personally have a problem with...like Reese's and Snickers. I could care less about Pop Rocks and Starbursts.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
