russburchfield 0 Posted April 14, 2012 After week 7, I am losing very little weight. My start weight was 273 and I am 5'11". I have lost 43 pounds but have lost very little in the past week and half. I have followed the recommendations to a tee. Is this normal? are my expectations too high?
sophiamckenna 11 Posted April 14, 2012 I am not sure why but this is completely normal. I had the same thing happen. I even had a fill at 4 weeks and I am still not losing and I am also at 7 weeks out. I am very frustrated and depressed about it. I have talked with one of my friends and she says it's normal also; she went through it as well. I am waiting for my fill on the 19th to see if this lull changes. I hope it changes for u!! I know that feeling of I'm Doug everything right wth!!! I know we will get through this every banded person does... Maybe it's just our bodies getting used to what we r giving it. jennifer1 180 Posted April 14, 2012 What ur experiencing is normal..the first 6 weeks are about healing not weight loss..so the fact you lost during that time is great...I actually gained weight when I started real foods and flipped out..but then I talked to my dietician and found it it was normal..hang in there..it may take a while for your body to adjust. honk 780 Posted April 14, 2012 I would say it's normal. You lost A LOT of weight in the pre/post op. Your body is adjusting to being on solids now and is seeing this as a new normal. 43 pounds is A LOT. Once you start loosing it can slow down. I am a slow looser.
