Gallbladder Problems?

Recommended Posts

I have my band repositioned on March 8, and I was doing fine the first week. About a week after surgery, I started having pain where by band is and going through to my back right around the rib cage/shoulder blade area. So of course I freak out because I had to have mine fixed. I thought it might be soreness from the surgery or whatever, but it hasn't went away. I went yesterday for a fill under fluro, and the band looks fine and is positioned fine. I still have this pain after I eat, and sometimes after I drink. For example, after Easter dinner I immediately had this horrible upper back pain. I don't know if it is my gallbladder, but I go for a test on Monday. I'm only 25 so I don't know what to do. I've never had anything like this done, and I don't know if I want my gallbladder removed (if it gets that far of course). Any suggestions from people who have had problems with their gallbladder?

Forgot to mention. Lately the pain is like a cramping underneath my right breast bone area, and goes into my upper back on the right side.

Talk to your doctor and ask for an ultrasound. Gall Bladder pain is HORRIFIC. To be perfectly clear EXCRUIATING. I know some doctors perscribe a medication that prevents the stones or gravel from forming. I don't know if it does you any good once they are already formed. If you eat any fat it will give you an attack. ANY fat!!!!!! After loosing 100 pounds at 18 I had to have my gallbladder removed at 19. Genetically my family has bad gallbladders. All of my mother's siblings had it removed (all 8 of them). Today it is a laproscopic surgery. When I had mine out 22 years ago it was a regular open surgery.

If you're having galbladder problems, you might want to go ahead and have it taken out. It is the most horrible pain you can think of. I've lost 30 lbs and had one attack. I'm going to have an ultrasound soon. I would rather go ahead with the surgery than wait for it to be infected and have more attacks. My daughter said she tore her bra off and laid down to die. I didn't know what was going on but I thought it was my band. I was screaming with the pain. Tell your Doctor what happens when you eat. Good Luck.

This is just one post to show that everybody is different. I woke up one Sunday morning a couple of years ago and felt a little nauseous. Because it was a Sunday, I decided to stay in bed for a while until I felt better. I never did start feeling better. About 5:00 p.m. I was having a very slight amount of chest pain, and bad hearts run in my family, so I decided I better go to the ER. Got up, took a shower, dried my hair and went to ER. They did an ultrasound and diagnosed gall stones. I had to have surgery the next morning. The surgeon had two surgeries that morning and took me first because she thought I'd be the easy one. She told me afterwards that my gallbladder was a total mess!! Anyway, all this to say I had very little to no pain, and absolutely no symptoms before that Sunday morning.

I do have a scan set up for Monday morning. It is not terrible pain. It is more like a dull aching get on your nerves type pain. It is kinda of hard to explain. I hope we find out what is going on. Maybe it is just my back acting up since I have to tug and lift heavier items everyday.

Consider yourself lucky if it is indeed a bad gallbladder and you only have mild pain. My worst attack I was laying on the bed in my dormroom, fetal position and literally could barely breath from the pain.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
