Claudia8498 0 Posted April 12, 2012 Hello everyone, I started the pre-op diet today. My doctors office said to have one regular meal a day, like 4oz of chicken and green veggies. When I called the office to clarify the amount of veggies I could have a day, I was told 2 servings per day. What are all of you doing? Are you eating extra veggies or only a small amount a day? waitingpatiently 250 Posted April 12, 2012 During pre-op I stuck to the low carb veggies. I would put spinach in my broth and would eat celery, broccoli, cucumbers as my other veggetable serving.
Toddy 758 Posted April 12, 2012 I had half a cup of veggies once a day on the pre-op. Seems like every doctor's pre-op and post-op diets are different.

vlp1968 83 Posted April 13, 2012 Are you on shakes and then the 1 meal? The instructions do seem confusing, 1 meal but 2 veggies. Should you eat 2 servings with your protien as the meal or eat another serving of veggies at another time? I would call again and get it clarified. Congrats on being on the preop diet- you are on your way!

Claudia8498 0 Posted April 13, 2012 Thank you so much for the encouragement. I came at the best time because it's my first day of this diet and I'm struggling and feeling like I'm going to fail. So thanks again!
