I just decided to sign up, as I have been lurking for a while. I am getting my surgery on April 16th, after almost a 5 month long process. It is finally hitting me and I am scrambling to get everything in order before Monday. My name is Meaghan, I am 28, and have a 3.5 year old son. So far I have lost about 14lbs with the pre-op diet. My goal weight is 140, but before that I would like to get under 200lbs. I also work weekends part time, so I won't have too much time to relax beforehand. I am only taking a week off from work as it is a new job. It's a physical job, so I will just have to avoid anything heavy. It will be hard to keep from picking my son up too. :)

Hey Meaghan! You sound exactly like me! I am 29 and have a three and a half year old boy too! It looks like we also have the same goal weight and starting weight. I just had my surgery on 4-6-12. No worries, the first few days are rough but you will do great!

Thanks so much! I actually just put my goal at the 200 mark since that's where I want to focus first. Hope you are feeling alright and not too sick of liquids. :)

Thanks! So far recovery has been about as expected. Just dealing with the gas pain and trying to drink enough. Good luck Wednesday!

That's a good idea. When I started the entire process last August I set smaller 10-20 lb goals for myself. It gives you more short term attainable goals to work toward. By the time I had surgery last Friday I was down 70 lbs. It all counts!

Wow gottobeme! Congrats! I struggled with losing weight pre-surgery (especially during the holidays.) I was down about 14 lbs going into surgery, which felt good as my surgeon requested a 10-15 lb loss. I actually considered the lap band in Oct 2010, but decided to post-pone as my life was too hectic. I waited a whole year to make sure I was ready, and I am glad I made that decision.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
