I want to have lap band with bmi 31-32, high blood pressure, high cholesterol.

Have anyone had problems after returning from out state lap band

Will insurance cover problems from surgery in Mexico once you return to states

How long is the recovery

How much weight can you loose in a year

Have friends had this done together I would like to go with someone whose having the same surgery.

How long will it take to get qualified by ins comp pros and cons

I had surgery in N. Va.. The hospital was Sentera ( was called potomic ). The dr. is chief and head dr of the wt loss clinic there.. Wonderful Wonderful group of ppl. Most states side insurances will not cover surgery unless your bmi is over 35 with complications, but there is no reason not to try and see what they say.. Most first time consult with dr. are free so you can discuss then..

I would never go out of country but that's just me. I have heard of ppl going and they have had wonderful results, so I will allow them to discuss...

Good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
