BandedBera 3 Posted April 8, 2012 My name is Sarah and I was banded on 3/27/12. I am currently 12 days post op. I'm 27, 5'9" and weighed 263 at the start of this process. I weighed 236 at my last weigh in. I'm not feeling any restriction at all at this point. I knew it would be hard but I want to eat just like I always have. I'm eating fairly normal foods and have not had any stuck or pbing episodes. I can't wait for my first fill so that it won't be all on me… Right now I'm getting by on will power but it's difficult. I'm supposed to be in the liquid stage still but I was starving all the time. I've progressed to mushy and some normal food. I started a blog as well.. Please take a look and offer comments or questions!! http://sarahclover7.blogspot.com/

waitingpatiently 250 Posted April 8, 2012 Welcome bandedbera, Hang in there! its going to get better! I would encourage you to try to stay on the post op diet.....It was really hard I know, but not only did it give my stomach time to heal, it also helped me break the carb addiction and I think it helped my stomach shrink (if thats really possible) because I surely can't eat what I used to. Keep trying, even if you slipped up and had something you shouldn't of, just start over at the next meal.
NWgirl 574 Posted April 9, 2012 I would also advocate staying on the post-op diet given to you by your surgeon. Make sure you are getting plenty of Protein. When you eat normal foods, the stomach churns to get it through. For the first couple weeks, the stomach needs to be healing and churning may do harm. When you eat normal foods, the stomach churns to get it through. For the first couple weeks, the stomach needs to be healing and churning may do harm. I agree with this. It's really important for your stomach to heal before you start eating "normal" foods, and you really need to focus on your Protein intake!
