So today of all days i need support and i can't get on the chat. Why can't they get their acts together on this site???

Ok i have been really following the rules. upped the exercise of late. Drinking Water. I started losing. lost 2 lbs. Two days of Passover and still following rules. Didn't exercise tho for 2 days. Haven't really eaten to much. Stress so i have been stuck. I'm feeling good so i get on scale and find i gained 1 1/2 lbs in 2 days. No it isn't water weight cause i don't feel bloated. My body hates me i can't take it. I just finished jillian Michaels 30 day shred and resisted the chips in the kitchen. Ok that is my rant. Thanks for listening.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Happy Holidays to all

Wendy

Maybe don't weigh yourself more than once a week.

I weigh myself daily but don't get frustrated by the normal ups & downs I see. Women's bodies fluctuate greatly in weight on a daily basis. I can go up/down 3lbs daily for no apparent reason, it just is what it is! If you find it discouraging you should stay away from the scale except at doctor visits, if following the rules progress will more likely to be seen then.

are you eating matzo? I am getting banded on April 11th and just two days of Passover is killing me......I cant imagine what it would be like with my band in!! Matzo is a killer on even the best eaters!

Well This is my third passover with the band. My first i was on mushies, the second and third was no big deal. I only eat a small bit of matzoh. I dont eat bread so staying away from matzoh isn't to hard for me. I eat some matzoh meal in stuff tho. I eat like i eat normally. I also don't eat rice or Pasta so passover isnt so bad. The seders are rough cause of the drinking and eating so i just don't eat and drink together. If i drink wine its a sip.

Thanks for all your responses.

Some facts about me. I am two years banded and had a problem in nov and had to get 2.75 out of band. Then had to wait 10 weeks for a fill. I was down to 174.5 Then went to 177. Then after unfill 180.5.

I was on my way down so i was excited cause i broke the platau. I stopped weighing myself everyday. Once i started losing i needed reinforcement so i i got on scale. I am fully aware we go up and down but i needed the scale for support this morn. I am being care about food and exercising and have a doc appointment Fri.

You are doing a great job Zinhaa!! Don't let the silly hunk of metal aka the scale rock your world, like so many things in life it is unreliable LOL!! I see you are from LI, NY, I am from Queens but my doc is on LI. I used NY Bariatric Dr. Holover, who did you use?

Carol I used Dr Vorha from South Nassau. How long have you been banded?

I was banded October 25, 2010. I lost 60 lbs by the end of April 2011, then had 9 months of treading Water due to my husband's health & his need to apply for a medical retirement from his job with NYC. Let me just say going from an active city employee to a retired one wrecks havoc with your finances & health insurance lol!! I have had to start working full time, also an adjustment with a disabled husband and a son with Autism BUT I realized I needed to continue my weight loss journey all the more now to get stronger/healthier for them. I have been back on track since returning to the doc & getting an adjustment on February 22. I have my next appt in on Wednesday & I am anticipating an approx 8lb loss!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
