Clothes in your closet

Recommended Posts

Do they speak to you?

I am pre op and ever since I have made the decision to get banded, I have been secretly planning on donating EVERY PEICE OF CLOTHES IN MY CLOSET......... I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO JUST GET RID OF THEM ALL.:clap2:

To replace them all with a couple pair of jeans and 2 t-shirts, that is all I want.:biggrin1: I know, I'm weird. I just want to simplify my life and that includes my wardrobe. I once heard on Oprah, that we wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. I believe that to be true and can hardly wait.

I'm with you about getting rid of the clothes I have, but I keep thinking that if i wear a smaller size, i can fit more clothes in my closet, so I look at this as an opportunity to get an EVEN bigger wardrobe!!

Being the undying optomist that I am, I have kept all of my graduating smaller sizes from previous diet attempts! I have clothes ranging from 26 down to 16. I -knew- there would come a day when I'd wear them again! Yahoo!

I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal too. Although, I am soooo looking forward to slipping into a size 10 pair of jeans with a bright white t-shirt and a navy blue blazer. Anyone here a Pretty Woman fan? The outfit that Julia wears in the final scenes is my goal outfit. It really suits me! :)

I have almost the opposite problem. I kept most of my skinnier clothes as I gained. I told myself that I would wear them again soon. Now I have all of these clothes, a closet full of unwearables, a testament to my growth in failure. Being banded and motivated I keep wanting to clean out my closet. Less than a year away from being able to wear all my gear, and I keep trying to throw it out! Shame on me! I probably wear 3% of my clothes 98% of the time. The other 97% don't fit yet. Arrrrrrrgh!

I have been selling my too big things on Ebay and that has paid for me to buy things that fit properly. I am getting ready to list about 4 hampers of things in the next week or so. I am starting tomorrow and listing until I run out of things to list. Last time I made over $300 and cleaned out my closet in the process. I am using the money from these sales to buy myself something really nice on my vacation. I already have a really nice summer wardrobe and I even have some things that are several sizes too small for fall and winter. I am lucky I have a local resale shop that sells everything for a set price, jeans are only $3.00 a pair no matter the brand name. A few weeks ago they had a buy one get one free an all womens clothing and I bought about $150 worth of clothes from my current size down to a 10. I am in a 14 or slim 16 now. I have from 24 to 16 to sell next week, look out Ebay here I come. ~Mandy

You can sell used clothes on ebay??? how does that work? I have bags of stuff here, and I'm at the point of thowing them in the trash because no place here will take them as donations because they are such large sizes.

I loved Pretty Woman, and I too am a casual gal. I have kept everything...literally everything. I have size 10 up to size 22 and my closet is bulging at the seams. When I find out where I'm going to end up they have to go. I have gained and lost probably 1000 lbs. in my lifelong journey, but can never keep it off. I'm hoping the lap band is a tool that is going to serve me permanently, and then I'm donating all the clothes. I also love watching QVC and that doesn't help a bit.

How do you advertise clothes on E.bay. Sounds interesting and I could make a small fortune, but won't change my mind about donating some of them either.

I guess I'm evil. I have a sister who was mean as hell to me growing up. I was called 'thunder theighs", "fatso", etc growing up. Now I give her my old clothes. She loves the clothes and it makes me feel really good to know her ass is bigger than mine now. :) I'm mean I know!

Selling on Ebay is simple, take good pictures of the clothing, write an accurate description, (brand, size, condition). Go to www.ebay.com and create a seller account. Click on the sell icon at the top of the page and them follow the instructions provided. It is really simple. Make sure to weigh the items you are selling so you can provide accurate shipping prices, if you are high people will complain if you are low you are going to lose money. If you take paypal, the combined fees from ebay and paypal are around 20%-25%. I have had really good luck with clothing, I always start each piece at 99c and let them go for whatever they go for. I had a pair of lane bryant jeans sell for $12 and they were used. Somethings that I think will sell like crazy don't and other things that I think I should just donate and not waste my time make the most money. I also sell my daughter's clothing there that makes really good money. The trick to ebay is be honest in the description, be fair with shipping, and take really good pictures. If you need help or want more advice let me know. ~Mandy

One of my "clothes goals" is to be able to shop at thrift stores!! I have a friend who finds great cute clothes at thrift stores, but it seems more difficult for plus size. :)

Paulax, keep ONE item just so you can see how far you have come. You will need that inspiration one day, and it will be hanging there in your closet. The rest, let it go!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
