Rafekeyboo 0 Posted April 8, 2012 Welp. I was banded 10/07 my started weight was at 350 I lost 82 pounds in about 8 months I felt amazing. I started feeling less restriction in my band so I went in for a fill. It was to much I was to restricted nothing would go down it was constant throwing up. So I started eating past the band. Eating stuff that was so unhealthy drinking sodas just pure junk. I lost my insurance and decided to go get my band Fluid removed that was march 2011. For some reason I thought I had changed my eating habits and could do it on my own. I just wanted to eat normal food again. Fast foward a year I'm back to 315 and feeling just as crappy. Sooo I went back to the doctor on tuesday and got refilled to 4cc and feeling a light restriction. I am really hoping that the second time around is just as good with the weight loss and with closer dr follow up.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted April 8, 2012 Thank you for sharing your story- I think we all can learn from it. I have read similar stories to yours, people getting unfilled thinking they can do it on their own, or eating around the band, and they all seem to end up where you are. You've obviously been through a lot, but it's great you are getting back on track before gaining everything you lost back. I have a lot of respect for you for going back in, getting a fill, and starting over. Best wishes to you, I'm sure you'll be just as successful as you were originally. adorkbl 156 Posted April 8, 2012 Welcome back to being banded. I was banded in Jan 08 and lost 100 lbs down to 284. I was feeling good and started eating around my band as well. I also had a leak and lost restriction for awhile so I ended up gaining back 56 pounds. I just recommitted 17 days ago and have lost 7 pounds as of this mornings weigh in. It feels harder this time around because I know all the tricks to eat around my band. I really wish I never tested it. But I am sticking to the rules and doing good. Keep active on the board. It is helping me stay mindful. We can do this!!!
