waitingpatiently 250 Posted April 5, 2012 I just got back from my first post-op apptointment....all went well and I can move forward to mushies for one week and then a regular diet. But heres my question. I can either have my first fill on March 26, but I am leaving on a cruise on May 4. That will give me 1 week to adjust to my first fill.....is that enough time? If I don't get the fill on the 26th I won't be able to get it until May 17. I think I would like to have it done on the 26th....but I wanted those that have already went through the first fill to let me know if I am pushing it. The dr was ok with giving it to me early because he said I have done so well with post-op. But he wanted me to think about it first. So fellow bandsters......would you please think for me!---haha I know we are all different, but being that its just the first fill.....it seems like the majority on here but feel anything after the first one....so it doesn't seem like it would be a big deal.--And if for some reason it was a mistake I would still have several days to go back and have the Fluid removed before the cruise. B-52 7,113 Posted April 5, 2012 I would say 1 week is plenty of time. Also, your first fill I would not expect too much, if any, effects from it.
Ric 89 Posted April 5, 2012 You will be good to go for the early fill! You probably will not notice much of a dif as I didn't until my forth fill!

Nikki Riviotta 33 Posted April 6, 2012 I noticed a difference in my first fill. I started getting hiccups and burps while eating. I called my doc and he said I wasn't chewing good enough. So I started chewing my food really good. I have found that I am extremely sensative with my fills. I have only gotten to 5cc and was so restricted I threw up every meal. Just have the doc start off slow with you fills, like just adding 1cc at a time maybe less and I think you would be fine to get your fill before your cruise, just remember to eat slowly and chew VERY good and you will be great! Have fun on your cruise! We are going for one in June and I am totally stoked for it!
JennyBee 340 Posted April 6, 2012 Feel no difference after 1st fill.... I think ull be good:) I go on my cruise in July and will have a few more fills by then:) can't wait!
cakelly73 28 Posted April 7, 2012 One week is plenty time to get adjusted. Depending on how much fill you get, you may not feel a difference at all, but take caution when eating..especially on a cruise where food is everywhere! I've had four fills and am FINALLY feeling restriction.
Jen75 33 Posted April 7, 2012 Get the fill!!! You will have plenty of time to adjust and a cruise can be all about food!!!!! food is served 24 hours a day... Some restriction will be better then none!!! Good luck manda!
