Thanks everyone. Wish I could say it was a breeze. I had natural childbirth and a C-section and I have to say I'd do either of those again in a heartbeat compared to this. I am so sore. Nauseous. It hurts to dry heave. Yuck. I'm barely taking in fluids and they almost kept me. Glad to be home and even though this sucks, I am sure it will be worth it.

Oh Gosh....Ive had two c-sections and told myself never again because the last one hurt so bad. Yikes! I guess this will pass just as the pain from the csections did and it will all be a distant memory and worth it in the end.

Thanks. I feel a little better in some ways. I'm having pretty bad lower abd gas pains. TMI alert... I haven't passed gas yet. I've been walking, tried pillows, and I'm out of ideas. I wish today were not Saturday so I could call my surgeons office. Grr

Just make sure if u haven't had a BM after three days u take some milk of magnesium. It will make u feel like a new person hehe. It will take several hours to work so don't double dose or u will have new issues :)

Its normal from the painkillers to get really constipated....my doc told me to take Milk of Magnesia....you will probably not be able to go number 2 for some time...but its normal so don't worry.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
