Well, I go for it in the morning. Have to be at St Likes Hospital (now part of the St. Vincents Health Care System) at Jacksonville Fl at 0500 AM. Damn early for me! But at least surgeon should be nice and fresh!

Hopefully, should go OK. Don't feel nervous yet but probably will at 0Dark30 when I head over to St Luke's.

Wish me luck

I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 the day of surgery too. It was nice, because I woke up tired (I stayed up late playing on lapbandtalk), went to the hospital, got the blood drawn, waited in my bed dozey, and then was wheeled into surgery at 7:30. I then left the hospital around 11:30am and came home to bed. I made sure to get up and walk every time I woke up, but I slept a lot the first day.

Well had my banding done today. Started about 7:00, out at about 8:00. So far so good. My belly feels like I was shot with a canon ball (5 holes) but no gas or gas pains. Pretty sore though. Still in hospital (9PM)' just gof back from a mandintory walk (every two hours).

I started ths adventure out 3 months ago. I weighed 361 at my 1st weigh in. Today pre surgery I was 333. Might just get to my goal of 250 pounds.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
