andrea0121 28 Posted April 2, 2012 Bandster hell my dear. Beef up on your Protein Drinks if you're on an all liquid diet still. Until you get proper restriction, you're doing it all on willpower alone. Sucks, but 99% of us all go through it.

Pollyanna12 74 Posted April 2, 2012 Bandster hell for sure. I switch to mushies tomorrow - YAY! It has been an incredibly long 4 weeks of liquids. If we can follow the liquid diet for a month, we can follow the band rules and meet our weight loss nad health goals!!!
Brad P 8 Posted April 2, 2012 my dietitian has me on full liquids, I see my surgeon and my dietitian tomorrow, I want to ask my surgeon just what the deal is. To me ( don't forget I'm a retired commercial roofer) I can understand about how important the healing is and how we all have different tolerances that we need to learn (SLOWLY) I just want to know, is it, that if I were to try a small bite of puree chicken and didn't have any problem, Is it that I have to be on Clear, one week, full liquid one week, then start mushies? Or does a food like (just for example chicken puree again) chicken irratate my GI track and should never pass my lips until at least week three? I already know we are all different, just wondering are these the rules for the people that might wolf down a big bite and forget and get stuck or if you start before those three weeks you WILL get stuck. I hope I got this point across?? My hunger is much better after listening to my dietitian and having the milk, and greek yogurt powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shakes, but like right now, I'm beyond starving (thats how I feel this second) half hour ago I was fine. Come on purees!!! I can't wait until I can have them! Oh yeah, I'm on day 8 tomorrow.

marfar7 1,533 Posted April 3, 2012 Im 2 1/2 yrs out but remember that first month like it was yesterday. Everytime Id go to Albertsons to pick up my cans of Tomato Soup, I"d smell the deli fried chicken and almost die from hunger. Swore that would be my first solid food. It wasn't. To tell u the truth, I don't even remember what it was! Hang in there. When ur able to eat again and when u finally get restriction, it'll be worth it. I promise. Be patient. Its a long process to actually losing. Marci

Its a long process to actually losing. Marci its a hard time. i feel for each one of you. here is what im doing to get through the ''band hell' period. i suggest, try doing some experimenting with what you can have.. a Soup can be made to be very tasty and filling... it doesnt have to be bland. im really trying to do just that right now and its helping me . for example, having a small bowl of soup that has a lot of flavour means that i can take a smaller mouthful, put the spoon down, savour the taste, i can wait for the 20 odd seconds before the next spoonful. im using mod. salsa in my Soups. thats a strong flavour and leaves a lingering taste on my taste buds its a real help. anther one... garlic salt, then there is fresh lemon juice. all are marvellous in and on soups.Om sure there are other ideas. think if it as an adventure, not something that has to be ''endured''. you can make the liquids a lot more flavoursome .
