kadeez 2 Posted April 2, 2012 I HATE manually tracking food & calorie counting on pen & paper. What app do you use to track food & exercise? I go back to work next week & would like an easy way to track this to monitor progress so I have an accurate log to discuss with my surgeon for fills. andrea0121 28 Posted April 2, 2012 I have the "Lose It" app on my phone. I have an Android phone and downloaded it for free. It's pretty spiffy!
mandagay 93 Posted April 2, 2012 My fitness pal is free as well. I had lose it and really liked it but I liked being able to friend everyone on myfitnesspal because of accountability and ease of discussion and when someone has a great day or loses a few lbs the encouragement and congrats are very uplifting!! kadeez 2 Posted April 2, 2012 Apparantly, I've used it before because I had a user is & last logged into it in 2010! Lol. I don't know how to add people. Feel free to add me. My username is Kadeez. I definitely need the accountability part of it. Does anyone know what the real website is for the computer?
elcee 3,341 Posted April 2, 2012 I can't stand any of them. I have tried a couple of times and given up. My fitness pal is annoying because it does not have some of the foods I eat and the serves are strange. For example instead of a serving of crackers being listed as 1 cracker or 2 or whatever it will give it in weight - I do not weigh all my food. I have tried Calorie King which has more local Australian foods but still does not do what I need it to do. I think they probably work Ok if you exclusively eat preprepared or convenience foods. I cook and there is no way that I am going to measure and weigh all my ingredients and then enter my recipes. That is too much pain for not enough gain. I am also trying to avoid the diet mentality. I got the band so that I could stop dieting, if I am constantly obsessing over every mouthful and entering it on the computer then that is very much being on a diet. For me my band is for life and it helps me to eat like a normal skinny person. I know what sort of foods I should be choosing.
TracieCat 8 Posted April 2, 2012 I don't recall ever trying myfitnesspal.. Do they have forums and such or is it just a food and fitness tracker? I suppose I could just go and investigate.
