This is a good topic, I like new ideas! The things that keep me going are- Bush's seasoned recipe black Beans, old el paso refried Beans, and rotisserie chickens! I mix either kind of beans with 3 oz of chicken, very filling, moist and easy!!

I'm definitely going to try that enchilada soup!!

I have been on a salad kick. Like tuna salad, ham salad, chicken salad and egg salad. I just made some egg salad with cottage cheese mixed in with a bit of bacon bits and a little shredded low fat cheese added. It was very filling and was 15 Protein grams for my serving. Yum.

I love the Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumbles. I add about 1/8th of a cup to my scrambled egg with some cheese. This is my Breakfast most mornings. adds a little more Protein to my egg, and a ton of flavor.

Also, I cannot live without my Mio Sweet Tea flavoring.

Foods that really help me...

Frigo Light Cheeseheads Swirls string cheese...Only 60 cal and 8 grams Protein. I have 2 a day, one each in the morning and afternoon.

Morningstar Farms Veggie Crumbles

Birdseye Broccoli Florets Steamer Bag...It's plain broccoli that you microwave in the bag. It is quick and easy and I always have on hand for when I feel lazy about cooking. Even the one with sauce is low cal.

Sounds like me. Seems that is my comfort food, along with either crackers or sliced cucumbers.

Our local Deli sees me coming! I'm too lazy to make my own.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
