sandymax 27 Posted April 1, 2012 Hi, I also have auto immune issues such as mild lupus and RA. Howeverr I made a decision to stop all Rx about five years ago. I chose not to tell my surgeon (not recommended). I was banded in December 2011 and have had three fills and so far so good. Best of luck to you.

Tomander 614 Posted April 4, 2012 I have spinabidfa and hydrocephalus and also have a compromised immune systems. My VP shunt is made of a similar material as the lapband and I have had no issues of rejection. I have had my shunt since was 3 months old. (now 45) I have had it revised or replace but not because of rejection. I've also had 8 spinal fusion and have a lot of hardware in my spine with no issues at all. Tom, Toronto Banded July 6 06 Wt. Lose100 178 Posted April 6, 2012 I have lupus. My primary care doctor and rheumatologist were both encouraging me to be banded.
