Exercise Equipment

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd get y'alls opinion on this. I saw the infomercial this morning and am thinking of buying it. I HATE strength training and I especially hate doing it at the gym -so I never do. I can get all my cardio without going to the gym, but if this thing works, it could solve a big problem for me. It's easy to set up and switch from exercise to exercise. What do you guys think? Gimmick? Too good to be true? Infomercial Junk? Or actually useful?

Oh yeah, I saw this on TV. It looked pretty cool. I think any equipment is worth it as long as you use it.

Do they give you a 30 day try it and if you don't like it send it back? That might be something to consider, but check out the shipping charges b/c I believe you'll have to pay shipping to and fro if you don't like it.

This product is pretty new so I'm not sure if you'll get many answers. Try doing a google on it and see if you get any reviews.

good luck !!

ok - I am an ebay and online shopping addict. I almost pressed buy it now! Decided to talk to hubby first :-). Looks pretty cool though - as long as it doesn't stay under the bed it fits under.

It looks cool but what I really love is that it's $14.95 and shipping and handling is $45.00 Who is shipping and from where for $45?

I was looking at this the other night. Do the bands come with it? Under accessories, it appears that the bands might come separately. On the purchase page, it says Main Unit. Makes me wonder. Anyone know what actually comes with this? There are so many extra bands you can order.. I wonder if the original ones are weak and you soon have to buy more heavy duty ones.

yep Sus - that's what I was noticing, too. I couldn't tell what it actually came with. I saw the additional bands. It does look kind of cool though for those that don't have tons of extra space.

It seems ridiculous, but the thing does weigh 20+ pounds, so maybe that's why. :)

Speaking from too much experience

"When you buy cheap you get cheap"

A very valid point

It says on the main page that you get the bench, a comfort mat (whatever that is), 18 bands, 4 handles, t-bar, v-strap, DVD and exercise chart.

I can't decide whether this thing is totally cool or a total rip off.

Resistance bands can do wonders...the thing is you have to use them, and you have to know HOW to use them. Watching the little commercial for it on their page I saw many moves that are done in the body scuplt class at the gym I work at. From reading on the site it looks like you can change the resistance form starting at 5lbs to up to around 120 lbs by using multiple bands on the same pull. Thats pretty good, you can buy more bands as you progress.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
