Whats The Workout To Loose Weight Faster?

Recommended Posts

I've been doing cardio workout tapes everyday for about 30 mins and it's been working fabulous but now the weight loss is a lot slower and I've had the band since sept 2011, any suggestions to get the weight loss back on track?

Running, theres nothing like it. Yes, in the long run you need some strength training, but to shift fat fast, run for forty minutes to an hour every day and you wont regret it.

I've noticed that every exercise works, as long as you really put all of your effort into it. But another thing that I've heard many times, is that you need to switch up your work outs...so that your muscles don't get used to the same thing over and over, and that's why your weight loss seems to slow down, cuz that's what happened to me too. As soon as I switched it up, I saw results again. And now that it's nice out I've started fast walking outside as well, and try to go as long as I possibly can...one day I went out for a 5 hour hike. I bring weights with me too a lot of times. Try going an hour instead of half an hour, and I bet you will see results that way too.

If you REALLY want something intense, that will get you results FAST, try Insanity. They call it Insanity for a reason.

Gonna sound stupid Jachut but how do you get your body to be ready to run. I can jog some and then walk and then jog some more but the problem is I do not know how to breath correctly. Can you recommend a book? Also is 170 lbs too fat to run or 51 years old too old

Not too fat or too old. I could walk a bit, jog a bit when I started, what I did was slow it waaaaay diwn to a weird shuffle and just not stop no matter what. It was a distance of only 3kms, so about 2 miles, and I did a lot of ut with DH walking beside me. I could easily have walked faster, but the key to kearning to run is to slow it down and develop your body's strength for running. Its not just about heart/lung capacity, I always found that if I went slow enough to get a good breathing rhythym going, my legs would give out first. So..... You need to go slow enough that you dont begin to pant uncontrollably. Certainly breathing will increase, probably to th point of discomfort, you will get hot and sweat but as long as you have some sort of joggibg motion going (for me it was a shuffle) youll eventually be able to run.

Sure, you might get more out of power walking at this point and you could probably technically go further in the same time period, but the shuffling not only conditions you to eventually run, and i always slow when i walk anyway. If ypu need to get the feel of it, set the treadmill for a speed at which you would normally jog, slow it by a mile an hour or whatever and teach yourself to jog that sliwly. It was psychological for me too, the fact tha i was jogging, no matter how slowly, spurred me on.

you have to mix your exercise up, doing the same thing everyday allows your muscles to adapt and then the weight loss slows, what i have found that is good for me because I am not able to run or jog yet is, i do strength training every other day with tony little and then the days that i dont do strength training I walk for 30 minutes or do zumba fitness. exercise all depends on you and what you can handle. good luck to you

I highly recomend YOGA. Its slow movements that make you sweat balls. I have been doing it on thursday at work for an hour and I have become more flexable and feel really good after.

I second checking out a Couch to 5K program. I used to do that and it helped immensely with my esteem and made me feel like I could do anything. I weighed 330 when I started it and got down to 284 before I had band complications and sidelined the program. I am just starting it up again and look forward to it!!

Now they have great apps for your phone where you can listen to your own music and it will prompt you when to run, when to walk, and when to jog.

Check out the app "Ease into 5K". Love it!!! It is an 8 week program, but I repeat week 1 until I am comfortable moving on to week 2. Then I do week 2 until I feel ready to move on to week 3. Do it at your own pace. It is quite motivating!!

I just recently switched up my workout! I have been at a plateau for months now! I joined curves, and do zumba! I am noticing the scale move again. Most important is measuring. I lost 8.5 inches last month!! Sometimes I think the scale has to catch up, since we are building muscle!

My husband does P90x and that is suppose to be incredible! He is in shape, but after his workout he sweats like crazy! If you like tapes check out P90X or insanity, I want to, but I am just not strong enough to do them yet!

I never liked running, because of all the excess weight I could not stand the pounding on my joints.

So I did the elliptical. After 2 years, and using a program called "Cardio Coach", I've worn out the elliptical doing hard 60 minutes a session.

But now the weight is gone, so I cut my Elliptical to 30 minutes, then do weights, then go on the treadmill for 30 minutes using the "Couch to 5K" on my I-Touch.

It really is making a difference, and thus far I have been following the program very well, into the third week.

Do you think the Couch to 5K is doable for someone who has probably never done any real exercise long term? I can't afford the gym but would like to try that out with my teenage girls. It would be good for all of us.

I just started the program a few weeks ago.

But week 1, the program starts with 1 minute jogs with 2 minutes walking in between.

As the weeks go on the progression changes also. But you can stay at a level untill you're ready to move on.

The one I have, plays you music and has verbal instructions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
