Flying And My Band

I'm flying to Vegas on Sunday and wondering if my port is going to cause any problems at the checkpoints. When I recently had a bone density test the port was in the way and the tech said it was a problem and had to do my arm also. I'm just curious if I'm going to set off the alarms or anything. Has anyone had any problems flying since being banded?

nope just flew, one airport did the full body scan, the one coming back had the walk thru x-rays. both are perfectly safe only thing is due to the altitude your band may restrict for a bit so they say when you land if you fill tight drink something warm

I've flown several times in and out of JFK with no issues.

My doctor's office provided a book that had some tips and one of them was that when flying you may be tighter due to the expansion of the air bubbles in your band. They say they try to make sure that there are no bubbles but sometimes they work their way in.

It shouldn't be an issue I maintain screening equipment for the TSA. Now you may be a selectee- someone randomly selected for extra screening if by chance they want to pat you down they will ask if you have any medical implants.
