Noodles Or Pasta

Somebody have advice' date=' why we can't have a few noodles for substance in our soups.[/quote']

Noodles tend to glob up in the band. Some can eat it that way, some can't. For me, everything determines on time of day, stress level and how much time I have to eat. When in doubt, don't do it. You will learn quickly what you can and can't have. Good luck!

It sucks, but something we all go through. I had 2 weeks clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, then 2 weeks of mushies before I could finally eat actual food. It was a long 6 weeks but worth it.

This is your time for healing. Stick to it, it's worth it :)

Your stomach churns to digest solids. Your stomach is healing from being stitched around the band. So no churning allowed! Sucks but you will make it!

I had my band 12/21 and now have not found any food that I get eat, although I don't eat bread or drink soda. During the liqued stage I did add a little cream Soup strained and it helped but I would not try noodles just yet. I can eat angel hair Pasta now, in small amounts. You will get through it, and then you won't even remember how tough it was. I love my band and feel great. I know I need a bit more restriction, but in time it will come. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
