We're 75 members strong and counting Ladies! That's awesome. All here on different journeys with the same goal in mind.

Get healthier, lose weight and enjoy the process.

Thank you each for joining the group and supporting me. I'm really happy I have you all hear to help me keep my mind focused on the positive!

So there was a thread going on about Non-Measurable Results, which was a big hit.

I've been thinking it would be fun to think of (and share) some of the activities you want to start doing once you've lost some weight and gotten back in shape. Remember we all need to start exercising. If we give our exercise program as much attention as our diet over the next few months, we'll all be HARD BODIES!

I want to Water ski again!

I'm am pretty much an adventure seeker, but I must say that over the last 3-4, I have been oner 250 lbs and have been limited from doing some activities. Most of these activities are on my "reward/to do" list as and when I loose the weight. I want to go sky diving (maybe indoors first, then the real thing), horseback riding again, more roller coaster riding and riding other amusement park rides, zip lining (in the jungle- I recently did it from man made tower, yes at 276 lbs), rock wall climbing again (did this for the first time the day before I started my liquid diet), repelling from 60 feet or higher, skiing, water skiing, scuba diving again. Okay I pretty much want to do most adventurous things except for bungee cording jumping. I also look forward to being able to dance without getting tired so easily and without my knees killing me.

My first frustration actually occurred about 5 years ago when I couldn't ride one of the roller coasters at Universal Studios in Orlando because the harness would close. I've still been going on others, but sometimes am uncomfortable in the harnesses. I'll be back at Universal Studios in July so I plan to go on "The Hulk" then. That will get the ball rolling. I promised my son that I would go skiing with him after I loose 100 lbs. I've never gone skiing and I was afraid to learn it or try for the first time at 250+ lbs. Wow, I can't wait.

I am also looking forward to riding roller coasters and not worrying whether or not the harness is going to fit! I have not been on a zip line but also am hoping to give it a try. I don't live too far from the Wisconsin Dells and hope to spend some time there this summer doing things I was too large to do last summer!

I am heading on vacation Sunday. Going to disney and unversal with my family I have promised myself this is my Last FAT vacation. I am going to make this work and i am going to enjoy life. The only thing i am worried bout this vacation and even told a friend of mine was that i am to fat to get on the rides. The embarassment of being to fat to get on a ride. Just worrisome to me.

Deb, Have a great time. Just go for it. At universal, the Hulk was the only ride I had trouble getting on when my BMI was around 41/42. That ride is on the amusement park side, not the movie ride side of Universal studios. I went on everything on the movie side including Mummy roller coaster and the newer roller coaster at up to a BMI of 46. I was a little embarrassing, but I was on vacation and decided that let down wasn't going to stop me from trying the next ride. At Disney, I've been able to go on all of the roller coasters at each park. So don't hold back, unless different rides just aren't your thing otherwise.

The Wisconsin Dells is the Water Park Capital of the world (or so they claim!) It started out as a tourist area because of the beautiful area around the river. Over many years it has grown and is an area with many indoor and outdoor waterparks as well as other tourist type activities including zip lines, boat rides, and shopping!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
