I think different people react differently to foods. A lot of people can eat anything they want (that's me so far) just smaller portions. A lot of people can not eat doughy foods (which is so bad for u anyway). Dry foods tend to be a problem for some. Unfortunately u won't know until it's u

I was banded on Jan. 6, have had two fills and currently have great restriction, and I've lost over 60 pounds so far.

I can eat anything I want and I've never once thrown up. I eat bread, lots of fish and lean ground turkey. I eat chicken. I eat veggies, both cooked and raw. I eat crackers, I've even had pizza. I eat out at restaurants. There is nothing I can't eat.

For me, the key is to take very small bites and chew the food 'til mush. I have had a couple stuck episodes, but those were my fault for not chewing enough, and they passed on their own.

Everyone is different, but there are many others like me. I love my band!

I've been banded for 13 months and don't have a problem eating almost anything. I stay away from snow peas and any steak other than filet mignon. Believe me, it is so worth it even if there is food you can no longer have! I thought I would die without bread. Well, I can still eat it with no problem, I have just chosen not to except on a rare occassion.

What is the feeling of getting stuck ? How do you get it down then ? Do you have to go to the hospital or just drinking hot Water will help it go down ?

I have been banded since Dec 22nd, I am losing slowly, had 2 fills, and go in for my 3rd one on Monday. I cannot eat dry foods (chicken, breads, etc), however, I eat tuna, Steak, ground Turkey, salads, and almost anything I want as long as I take small bites and eat slowly.

I am still learning my body and learning to slow down. I cannot eat baked chicken at all, but if I have it cut up really small in something, I am ok. Each person is different, and no, you will not have to just eat Soups for the rest of your life. Just listen to your body and what you can and cannot eat

Dzire: Hey, I have been banded since 7/7/11 and have lost 89 pounds. I can eat pretty much whatever I want. I love steak and fish and shrimp. But - I must cut it small (like you would for a toddler) and chew the stuffin out of it, Yes, I have gotten things stuck and have PBd..yuck, it hurts and it is gross. I am still learning on this one as I just recently got enough restriction that this happened. Even as I stand outside barfing in the bushes thinking it will never stop sliming and coming up - I would not change a thing and would do this again in a in a NY minute. I eat out (being careful) and I enjoy almost everything I once liked - Now,that being said - NO Bagels, sub sandwiches, thick crust pizza, lasagne, rich deserts..they either get stuck or the sweetness makes e sick but newsflash, I shouldn't have that stuff anyway - so band is doing it's job and I have to do mine, Now about Soup, I have not had any since my post-op diet ended. Just don't want any. Good Luck and hang in there.

Thank you ! Makes me feel better. Whats worries me the most is the unknow. I have an anxiety personality so I need to plan everything ehead all the time and I know that with this adventure, I will not have any control. Only my body will. I have to learn to let go... Life is like a boxe of chocolate no ?! ;)

For me, when something gets stuck I get a lump in my throat and chest. It's very tight and if it's really stuck, it does hurt a little. It always passes fairly quickly for me, I just make myself burp and pat my chest and it passes.

Only once I got really stuck- it lasted almost an hour and I finally drank some warm Water to wash it through. That was also my first stuck episode and taught me to chew, chew chew! Now when I get stuck, it's just a momentary thing and no big deal.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
