Anyone else experiencing dizziness every once in a while? Banded on 3/20 and on a full liquid diet. I think it's probably a lack of calories honestly but wondered if anyone else felt this way. Thanks.

Are you on blood pressure pills? I was preband and after being banded with the weigh loss it was causing my blood pressure to drop very low especially when I stood. Just something to think about if not then very possible it is just your body coping with your new tool and it's new nutrition.

Good luck!!

All the time! My blood pressure is fine too. My doc said it was my body adjusting to the amount I've weight I've lost. It really upsets me sometimes. I have to stop what I'm doing and wait for it to pass.

yes definitely, that's happened to me a couple times, and now as well. I'm already off of one bp med , maybe time to get off the second. Go to forums and look up dizziness also, you will see all the postings for dizziness. :)

i was banded on the 22nd... i havent had these episodes... but, remembering that you are only on liquids and your calorie/carb count is way down. Perhaps you are suffering from low sugar?? that can make you feel giddy. how often is it happening?? im sure that there are others here who have had the same.

how are you coping with the full liquid diet?? can you tell me what you are eating?

Not much lol. So far I haven't been able to get in three shakes a day. Just not possible. But I've managed three meals sort of and Breakfast has been the Protein lunch has been Soup and dinner Soup. My plan is to add more Protein after dinner tonight if I cantolerate it.

I actually didn't have any dizziness yesterday and I was quite active. I'm wondering if it was just normal post op weakness stuff. Thanks!

Never had dizziness until I got to goal and lost 90 pounds. The doctor did say he thought it was due to losing the weight so fast in the first year. I am 3 years out and every now and then have a dizzy spell. I am off all meds and bp is normal and great for my age. I keep mecclazine (sea sick) pills on hand and cut them in half and have to take them for a day or two until this passes. This seems to happen every now and again with no reason in sight and the doctor said now that he thinks it is something from the middle ear you get with age. Just another thing to adjust to with this new life and learn to live with it. I never know when it is going to hit me. I have had a lot issues come up since being banded that far outweight carrying all that weight.

I have never been diabetic. If my blood sugar drops I can get dizzy. Since I've lost weight it has happened less. I know my dad used to have low blood sugar . My sister's (always been thin) boyfried keeps candied ginger in his car because when her blood sugar drops she has to eat NOW.

I had this the other day. My blood sugar was at 50 (should be around 90) because everything I ate was either way low in sugar or sugar free, so for four days of liquids and two days of mushies I had taken in almost no sugars and I tanked. Had half a small frosty from Wendy's and was feeling good. Ha! So don't completely ignore sugars!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
