Mine is right below the 1/4" layer of skin. It sticks out like a big lump! Like there is a golf ball there.

I can rub my finger around it and feel every nook and cranny, including the tube.

But that's what happens when all the fat on your belly disappears, and your stomach gets rock hard.

Yes, I can feel my port. Last summer when I got into the swimming pool, mine would stick out like a hernia. I guess it doesn't like to be cold! I actually like to feel it; it is a reminder of my goal. Good luck with your weight loss. By he way, there are very few things that I can see the port through clothing! Karen

I can feel mind more after 65 pounds lost but it does by no means stick out. If I ever loose this over 70 pounds it might. I think it was pretty deep when installed so maybe not. And by feeling I mean I feel for it with my hand. I don't feel it constantly like some kind of foreign body like a splinter.

It doesn't bother me and the seat belt isn't a problem. Kind of like feeling your ribs under your skin.

I could always feel mine once I went in for my first fill and knew where it was but now after losing all of the weight (150lbs), you can see the bump all the time. It gets a little annoying explaining it to people but hey I'll take that over the alternative!

yeah, I can feel mine. I just discovered it about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't feel it before I lost all the weight. Thank God my doc could find it though! lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
