Hey, everyone. I've not signed on here in forever. I decided it was time to get back, because I am in need of support. Plus, I'd like to be able to be there for others too.

I've been fluctuating up and down the same 3-4 lbs for almost a year and have been unable to drop below the 60lb lost mark. I think I've been making some bad food choices; It's been forever since I had a fill and I am dealing with issues due to thyroid medication. I went a few months ago and had my thyroid levels re-checked (I had my thyroid removed a few years ago and am on total thyroid replacement medication), only to find out that my levels are normal. I thought that maybe one reason I'd stopped losing, was because of that. I've tried changing up my workouts. Still mostly cardio, but I'm doing more on the elliptical machine most days, than walking. I like to do weights, but I've got tendonitis in my right arm, so I'm trying to not do much arm work.

The smallest size of clothes I've gotten into, is size 10 pants and Large shirts (partly because of my chest size), which I can still get into, but I still feel "fluffy".

So, I'm going to try and get in to the TR office for a fill, but I need a confidence boost that I can reach my goal.

I had my thyroid removed due to Thyroid Ca back in 2004 and I'm also on replacement meds. When thinking of doing this surgery I wasn't sure if I would be able to lose weight but so far, {8 weeks ago had surgery I'm losing at a nice pace and am in my late 50's. I mix up my exercise from powerwalking, jogging and walking on treadmill and doing the Leslie Sansone video workouts as well as lifting hand weights. Perhaps you need to lower your calorie intake and up your exercise.

Having said that, the good thing is you seem to be stabilizing, not going up more then the 3-4 lbs. I would die to be in a size 10. Right now I'm between a 16 & 18 and my weight is in my hips, butt and thighs with a smaller top. It's all relative isn't? Good luck to you

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
