Recommended Posts

I would say gall bladder also.... if you ever really need to have it out maybe your mom won't be living with you so it won't an issue that it is now. Good luck!!

i'd also recommend something with the gall bladder...i had mine removed about 3 years before i had the band done and my bariatric surgeon said that the scars would be very similar, which they were! good luck :)

I was going to use gall bladder surgery they use the same prceedure in the same areas or clae to anyways but the only use three holes just don't say or show lower cuts sites. It's around the same healing time too. I ended up telling someone that spilled the Beans sooo everyone has been ever nice about it not bringing it a lot it so worked out

I would reccomend the hernia, in fact that is what i am telling everyone. I'm not lying because they are actually going to fix mine while in there. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and input! I will definitely have to think about the hernia and gallbladder. I wish I didn't have to say anything, but people are going to notice I had some sort of surgery. As far as anyone outside my family I don't think anyone will ask many questions except a friend or two, but my family will definitely notice something going on and I don't want to tell them about my band until I'm ready.

If I didn't have the little kids I could just go stay in a hotel a few days and say I'm going out of town ;) but real life keeps bringing me back from that fantasy. :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
