Banded On March 23Rd!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey Tray yes when i got my band my dr took out my gall bladder due to it being inflamed. But I found out what the pain was it's gas. I went to the dr and I had to take xray to check my band and make sure it's ok and dr told me thats what it is. So im just going to taking deep breaths and more gasx.

Also my dr told me I would be ready for a fill in 2-3 weeks. I guess thats a good thing. My dr also told me I can start eating chunky Soups like with veggies or meat. He made my day!!!! Still having some discomfort sitting for long periods at a time due to my port it's in the middle and still sore. But dr said everything looks great. Lost 10lbs in a week he was ok with that. So all in all good visit!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!!

Girl' date=' I know how you feel!!!! I accepted a job this morning because I was feeling good (I'm a substitute co-teacher).. After accepting.. I realized I got my monthly dreaded buddy.. Mind you I just got it on the 8th.. It's damn early!!! I felt worst and worst as the day progressed and unfortunately the only liquid meds I have is the oxicodone the doc gave me for the surgery but it puts me to sleep so I didn't even want to take it.. I'm glad I got home at 3 because I ran and took some.. Hope you feel better!! =D[/quote']

Oh my God, Glori! I'm sorry to hear that!!! N it is definitely a testament of how strong u are! Cuz I couldn't even mess with pretending to fight thru it! N u dealt with kids!!! I hope they were sweet to u. =\ Hope u felt better once u got home!!!

Lmaoooooo....I totally get what you mean! I really have only been aware of my weight these past 6 mos b/c of doctor's appts. Before then I LITERALLY had not weighed myself in years. N the scale I own now I only have due to a "Biggest Loser" challenge we had a work. (Which I won 2nd place for and that was the price. Lol). So I totally understand! I'm glad you and ur scale are on better terms now! Lol

We got this!!! :D

I'm sorry it turned out that way for u mwest! It wasn't too horrible for me besides the expected bouts of gas. But in the end it will DEFINITELY be the best thing that has happened to us n that we have DONE for ourselves! We are here together, if u need any support reach out to us! I THOUGHT I would be able to go back to work 4 days post-op but it'll actually be 10 days.

I was banded on the 23rd and Im still having a little bit of trouble bending it doesn't hurt it's just uncomfortable. Im not going back to work until monday. I went to the dr yesterday and then shopping all day. I woke up today and i was so tired and didn't feel like doing anything I had no energy. Im not sure if being home for the past week and doing nothing but resting and then finally getting out and do something took alot out of me or what. But I can't have that. I took all my Vitamins and drank a protien shake amd still nothing.

Im not allowed to lift anything heavy or do tummy exercises and im supposed to try and limited time i have to bend if i can until my port is settled.

mwest when i came home for the 1st 4 days i slept on an incline with like 6 pillows under me it helped. You have to get out of bed slowly but each day gets better. Keep your head up and make sure you walk and drink your liquids. We r here if ya need us. We got this!!!!

Well, don't u worry about that plateau! As u see ur are doing wonderfully if the doc is saying ur losing TOO much! Can only hope to hear something that terrific!!! Lol I'm glad to see u are so motivated n it has become a lifestyle change for u. There really isn't anything like this forum! It definitely helps me a lot. N I come to it at many points throughout the day. Good job, Tray!

Well tomorrow is my 1st day back to work since surgery kinda lookinf forward to it. I have been in the house for to long. I packed a lunch bag and an extra bag with Water, Powerade zero and cottage cheese. Im taking my Protein shaker and extra portein to make through out the day. I just want to be prepared for when my tummy starts to growl. I even went and got extra sunkist Protein Shots for a quick shot of Protein they are actually pretty good and seem to do the trick. They have 24grams of protein and it looks like a 5hr energy shot so they are easy to take if you dnt have time for a snack or Protein shake. Had a nice relaxing week off time to get back in the swing of things.

I weighed myself this morning just becuz lol I lost 2lbs since friday at the dr. I proud. I have started to exercise a little bit at a time trying to work it back in. I also purchased a jogging stroller for when it's time to go walking/jogging at the park. Im super pumped about this life style change. You can't really tell of my weight loss physiaclly but mentally i feel it and Im finally on the right track. I hope everybody going back to work tomorrow is ready and prepared and has a great day!!!!!

WE GOT THIS!!!!

Hey twin! I'm glad you are being so positive! You sound super prepared...Glad you got your stroller. U're definitely going to be the chic sexy mom in town! I, too, will be going back to work tomorrow. Am slightly looking forward to it. Lol. Just hope I'm not going back to a stressful, hectic environment. I also happen to have my post-op appt tomorrow morning before work. Hope everything turns out fine and I can finally progress in the pureed stage. I just can't wait to be at solids. I am soo sooo over these liquids and the such. I also have been feeling nauseous the past two days. Don't know what the heck is going on? It seems I traded the gas for nausea. :( Anywho, I definitely am glad to have come across you all. I definitely has been great companionship throughout this journey and I know we can all make it! Have a GREAT GREAT day tomorrow all!!!

We got this!!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      3. buildabetteranna

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
