I know everyone loses at a different pace but I'm still curious to know how fast or slow everyone is losing.... I'm 3 months post op and only down 23 lbs most of which I lost on my pre op diet.... Since my third fill two days ago I've FINALLY felt some restriction!

Appreciate the feed back and thanks for sharing!!

I am eight weeks and two fills in. The first fill didn't make a difference. I'm feeling restriction with the second one but just got it. So we'll see. I've lost 28 pounds. My doctor says no more than a pound or two a week is good.

I am just about 4 weeks post op and the last time that I weighed in, at 2 weeks, I was down 18 pounds. According to my scale at home I was down 25lbs today but I don't go by anything but the scale at my Dr's office. Next time I go is 4/3, for my first fill.

Did the drs specify how long it should take to lose the majority of the weight?

I have 100 lbs to lose : / I wish I could fast forward to my goal weight .....

Stick with it ! good luck !!

I was banded 2 1/2 yrs ago and lost pretty slowly. The first 4to mths I loast nothing till my 3rddr fill. Then I started dropping 7-8 lbs a mth. In 1the yr I had lost 75 lbs. The 2nd year I lost an additional 28 lbs for a total of 103. The last few mths I've gained a out 6to lbs back but I realized what im doing and ill take the 6first off plus the last couple lbs 8a have to goal of 135.

Good luck to u. PSN I don't have alot of saggy skin because I lost so slowly. Its worth it if u have patience

Marci

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
