flab u less 45 Posted March 21, 2012 I got banded on Monday And my belly is so tight and bulging? Is this normal.it feels tight but no pain.
Cocoabean 430 Posted March 21, 2012 You probably have some swelling, and are retaining fluids from the IV. If you are not in pain and able to drink fluids you are most likely fine. Keep watch for the things on your discharge instructions.

anncm 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I'm on my 3rd post op day and my belly is tight not painful but some discomfort. I haven't tried Jello but pudding very slow has been fine. I'm guessing my belly is swollen and gassy and hope it goes away soon.
NWgirl 574 Posted March 22, 2012 My tummy gets really bloaty/tight after eating. I was able to do a full 11oz Protein Shake for breakfast, and just now had a small Greek yogurt and 6oz veggie broth. I cannot believe I am able to eat so little right now and not feel deprived. I even had to force myself to eat the yogurt and drink the broth.
rlfoster 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I had the same problem almost immediately after surgery on Sunday night I called and was ok'd to try sleeping on my stomach and it has done wonders. Not saying I haven't been bloated since, but laying down for 5-10 minutes takes care of it. Best if luck to you! Rlfoster banded 3.15.
