Band? Are You Still There?

Recommended Posts

I am currently on lap band fill no2 and have a question. In the beginning after my second fill I felt some restriction but now am wondering if it could have been just me being swollen. I do get full on less food post band but feel like I'm eating more then I should. Am I supposed to wait till I'm full to stop eating or could this cause my band to slip? I feel like I was doing better before my fill. The dr said I lost7lbs and was doing great but since my appt I feel like I'm not doing as good. Maybe I expected too much from the fill.

A fill can cause swelling, so sometimes we experience some restriction then it goes away. For me it was fill 3 before I had anything lasting. Everyone is different.

It took me four fills before they finally found that "sweet spot." If you eat something too big (piece of potato, doughy bread), you'll definitely be reminded that the band is there!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
