Hi Everyone! I went shopping today and was able to fit into XL tops and size 14 pants...although I had to bump up a size for jeans to a 16...but the best thing is I did not have to go to the plus size section. It was so awesome and I couldn't believe it was my butt in the pants I tried on...lol...I am 7 weeks post op and I have had one fill. I am still feeling restriction but not as much as before. I have been exercising on the treadmill 4 to 5 times a week. I am looking forward to my next fill and maybe instead of buying new clothes I will be heading to the consignment store.

I was a size 18/20 and a loyal Lane Bryant shopper and the 18/20s were getting tight...that is when I made my decision to get the band. I know this doesn't seem like a lot of weight to lose to some of you but we are each on our own journey. I just wanted everyone to know that if I can do it anyone can, trust me.

Consignment shops are the best!Such a good idea with so many changes going on so quickly! I am now into a size xl tops (wow) and 18 bottoms are getting a little saggy in the butt! When i am trying tops on and they are size XL I actually read it again when i take it off and check it again thinking it couIdn't be! I am just around the corner from no more Plus size shopping! I might actually like shopping soon! Congratulations to you!

Great job!! I wish I only had 68LBS to lose but that is still a significant amount to need to lose and already over 30lBS 7 weeks post op is amazing. I am now 3 weeks post op and the last time I weighed at 2 weeks I was 18 down. I am refusing to go by any scales except my Drs for my official weight so i wont know how much I am down again until 4/3 unless they are willing to let me hop on the scale while I am there for my support group on Wednesday. I can say that my size 18's that were pretty tight before surgery are now loose, even right out of the dryer. :)

I sure hope I can do as well as you have! :)

Good job Cyndie! 10 yrs ago when I lost 70 lbs I remember the excitement when I didn't have to go into the plus size section. What was strange though is I felt like a fish out of Water. I can't wait to feel like that again though!! Keep working hard and you'll be to goal in no time flat. Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
