Alexandra 55 Posted February 9, 2004 Wow, I am SO PSYCHED about joining the Y!! We have discovered a whole new (and recently renovated) world of activities and diversions. I don't know if all Ys are like this, but the one near me has state-of-the-art facilities and great hours. Yesterday morning I took a "Back In Shape" low-impact aerobic class, this afternoon the girls and I went swimming (well, bouncing in the Water if you want to get technical), and any evening during the week both DH and I could work out while the girls are at the babysitting area. The babysitting costs $3.50/hour per child!! I am totally ramped. Everyone has a Y near them somewhere. Check it out!!
Vera 7 Posted February 9, 2004 Swimming is so cool I live on a lake, even if its 32 in the Water now.....Thats nothing to you in Jersey., No I hav'nt been in it lately, It just opened for boating this weekend.(we own a boat) It was closed for a year and 1/2 to bulid a bigger ramp. Yes in the summer, thats an other story.. I'm in it, I love to swim. Our city is builing an aquatic park and Olympic center, My DH is a top swimmer. Morgan Hill is bidding for Swim complex the 2012 Olympics..? I'v been on the bike cycle lately....40 min+ when the kid is napping and after dinner. At least I'll have nice legs:D I trully believe that exercise is a way of life, if nothing else.. Walk. 'That my motto and I'm sticking to it' Today I was jumping rope with my 6 YR DH and counted to 40 non-stop. Did it! I agree, Join a club, being around others that are motivated, its support and fun. Good deal on Babysitting:D The rate around here is $5- Keep up the good work. RAMPED:cool:

Alexandra 55 Posted February 9, 2004 Hee hee! Sorry, I didn't realize not everyone uses this shorthand. DH is "dear (or darling, or darn, depending on your mood) husband" and DD and DS are the same for daughter and son. These abbreviations are widely used on parenting boards. Vera 7 Posted February 9, 2004  I woke up at 4 in the morning and it dawned on me "Darling Husband" Oops
Grant 0 Posted February 9, 2004 Thanks for explaining the DH thing. My only question is to Vera. When did the reserviors in Morgan hill ever get to 32 degrees. Don't believe her folks. The Water in her lake probably never saw 55%!!!
Vera 7 Posted February 9, 2004 Hey Grant I was breaking ice... a week ago, It was just explained to me if the outdoor temp is 32 the Water temp is about 58. I'm keeping my pie hole shut. Sorry But I'm only 29 years old....
