Boney Butt

Recommended Posts

Have a question I dont know if it's just me, but ever since my weight loss my tailbone protrudes and it hurts when I sit for long periods of time. Its not sticking out like a tail lol but you can definitely feel it, my dr said its because when I was heavy my tush had that extra fat padding around my tail bone and now 90 pounds lighter my tailbone has no cushion on it and that's what causing my tailbone pain. Does anyone else have this issue and if so what do u do to help the uncomfortable feeling

my tailbone doesn't hurt but it is uncomfortable to sit on unpadded chairs for me. I joke with hubby and say I need a Kim kardasion or Jennifer Lopez butt, and he tells me I never had butt to begin with. i have a small lap blanket under my desk that I use sometimes, have you checked with a chiropractor? I've haven't been since operation.

Oh I feel bad for both of you but I am thrilled that I am not alone!!! it is such a weird feeling! I am about ten pounds heavier than when I was in college and I never noticed my tailbone then but I guess now with the weight loss and butt muscle loss of just getting older (Im 48). I guess squats can build up the butt muscles and I probably should get going on those! Thanks so much for posting!!!

OMG I was thinking about posting this as well! I'm around the same amount of weight loss and my tail bone hurts so bad sometimes! I was at a friend's house yesterday and after sitting on the couch for a while, I was SO sore. I get it at work really bad too but my butt doesn't look bony and my tailbone isn't protruding either. I'm definitely going to be following this post!

I went to the chiropractor once he re aligned my hips and quiet honestly I didn't feel any difference, my regular dr gave me Mobic which is an arthis medication for inflammation. I will have to try lunges and anything else that will give me Buns of steel lol, keep me posted if anyone finds a better relief, I dont really foresee myself carrying a donut pillow with me everywhere lol

I feel your pain....pun totally intended :D I have early arthritis and a compressed disc in my lower back as well, so sometimes it can be very painful. I am going to try the stair stepper or just run up and down the local stadium. I've always had a larger derrier, so it feels weird to be bony down there. It is kind of nice to sit on my hubbies lap and him say "Get your bony bum off me!" :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
