I am not a heavy drinker by means, but I do enjoy my glass or glasses of wine..and now all of a sudden it hit me, I am not sure how to incorporate it? I wont right away due to I am on the liquid diet.. but I am turning 40 in a couple of weeks and I dont know what to do, or how to introduce it?? I hope this does not sound dumb..I know I can not drink while eating, so does this mean I can have a have a glass of wine just before, then eat, wait an hour...then have another glass..lol..who knew this would be something that is making me confused!!!

Thanks for all your help!!

Never stopped me.....it is calories, that's all you really need to know.

I'm not a heavy drinker, but I still have a cocktail every time we go out, I have had a beer or two at a ball game, etc., and we always have wine in the house.

I don't have to wait an hour before and after. I just can't drink and eat at the same time or my meal comes right back at me!!! lol

Just be aware of the calories, and they are empty calories. Also, I know for me a couple drinks makes me hungry, and I am far more likely to eat something not on my plan. Just be carefull - have fun on your birthday!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
