tammyg1969 7 Posted March 18, 2012 I know I'm only 3 days post op and on liquids but my son and husband are having pizza for lunch. I need to learn to be strong since this is a life change ...I can't expect them to stop enjoying food just cuz I have too. Maybe I'll go upstairs while they eat... I also gave another delema, my sons birthday us next week and of course the family is meeting at his favorite restaurant to celebrate... I really never realized how much of our lives are spent revolving around food.
sandymax 27 Posted March 18, 2012 Sorry if you think my reply is rude but... Get over it! Don't run and hide upstairs, face the rest of your life head on and start now. You have this incredible blessing of technology and opportunity with the lap band! Know that you are blessed and let everyone else go on with their lives as usual. Enjoy your family time and know that in time the pride you have in a brand new juicy body will be better than any over indulgent meal. Be confident that you can deal! Because you can. skkcs 9 Posted March 18, 2012 I agree with Sandy ... except ... It took me awhile to be able to be around people eating my favorite foods. Trust your instincts and do what you need to do to succeed! There were several times I had to leave table and remove myself from temptation (pizza ... yummmm ...). My husband and two boys completely understood and as I progressed and learned different techniques I was able to be around more. Believe in yourself and do whatever you have to in order to succeed!! :-)
